Book 2 of the series is better than the first! This book was recommended by a friend and it was on the Kindle Unlimited program so I just downloaded it, didn’t even read the synopsis first. I downloaded this one and book 3 and then headed out on my vacation before I realized I didn’t have book 1 – so I read them out of order. Even jumping into the series I enjoyed the story.

Lexi is a smart and brave woman who has some extra psychic talents that help her with her job. But I liked that the talent was more of a side note than the center of the story. She didn’t whip out her ability to figure out stuff that no one else could. It does become an integral part of the story later on, but it’s not a “magic bullet” that some authors use to get their characters out of bad situations that were a product of bad writing. Her use of her abilities are believable in the context of the story, even if you don’t believe in these sorts of things in the real world.

There’s action, romance and international intrigue. The story is woven together very well which is important for a series that has so many threads to it. There aren’t an overwhelming number of subplots, but there’s enough going on that it’s impressive the author can keep them all interesting and gives them enough attention that you don’t forget or stop caring about any of them.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre of writing.
