I’m glad I read this before I read any of the reviews. Some of the other reviews have noted the twist near the end so I’m not spoiling anything here.
I got suckered by the introduction and went with the alternate-universe premise.
I’m so glad I did. What a great story and the twist had me shocked and delighted.
Plus, like the rest of his books, the author doesn’t have his characters do stupid stuff just to advance the plot. Many authors do that, but it seems especially prevalent in zombie books.
I read somewhere that the author had only read a few zombie books. I can only guess then that he hasn’t been trained to make all the stupid mistakes the other authors make.
That makes for a strong story with nothing that makes you want to put the book down.
I’m a huge fan of zombie books, and my collection is quite extensive. I’ve spent years building it. And I have to say, this is quite possibly one of my favorites.
The characters were incredible. I loved them. They had so much depth to them. The storyline was amazing. There were a couple times I had to put the book down because I was scared of what was coming next. I love it when a book can keep me guessing, and this one did. It’s been a long time since I have been shocked by a book, but this one did it.
This is a book that I would definitely read again.
Pretty good book, well written and I don’t remember seeing any grammar errors. Jay Korza has a gift as a writer, he’s able to almost completely immerse you into the fantasy of the book by detailing everything that happens from sounds to smells. He is honestly one of my favorite authors and I hope he becomes well known so he keeps writing and I can keep reading his books. Keep up the awesome work!
